Looking at a thread about a guy who hunted down and killed a drunk driver who killed his kids, posted by a militant right winger, I am wondering why the conservative view is simultaneously pro-Jesus, but seems to be straight out of the Old Testament. Now, I sympathize with the man, and I might well do that same, but it is not a noble, Christian thing to do.

Wasn't Jesus the guy who said turn the other cheek? All this macho, pro-gun, pro-murder posturing doesn't seem like it would impress JC very much.

Why do liberals claim to be tolerant yet go berzerk every time they hear a non-liberal viewpoint on Fox News or talk radio? Wanting everyone to think and express the same thoughts doesn't seem very tolerant to me.

Does it matter if anybody's beliefs aren't congruent with an organization?

I have pointed this out a couple of times myself, sadly others on here - the "true christians" don't get it. A couple claim to be pastors yet support vigilante style killings, the arming of the nation etc. So much for the peaceful, loving ways of Christ.

I think any time you have religious extremists whether Muslim or Christian Evangelical, you have the breeding ground for violence. Extremism of any kind is bad.

Because the bible is a book of violence. It is one crazy schizophrenic book. OT is all strike down whole cities because they are not doing what god wants and the NT is all can't we all just get along. LOL Crazy

Humans are flawed.

I enjoy a good vengeance story.

It's not limited to "conservative Christians" however.
