Here we go again.
None is scared of legal citizens owning guns.
But a lot of people are scared of crazy people who shouldn't own them, because unfortunately gun laws are a joke in USA...
Come on, it's not hard to understand.
P.S. Anyway, this rally is pointless. 3000 people can't make a difference. Also I wonder how many of them come from Whitetrashistan.
So let me get this straight, random crime is so infrequent that according to you it's not really necessary to own a self defense firearm... BUT because some extremely rare mass murder took place earlier this year you are worried that all gun owners are now a threat to your safety?

Do you realize how utterly illogical and insane that sounds?

No one is talking about "eliminating rights." People are talking about sensible options like universal background checks, which is something Wayne LaPierre advocated himself in the past. Of course these days, transparent hyprocrisy is perfectly acceptable for most neo-cons in this country.

Will such measures take away guns from all criminals? No. Just like traffic laws don't prevent all drunk driving or prevent people from driving with a revoked license. That doesn't mean you take such laws off the books, though.

That's not true, the legislation being proposed and in some places passed around the country right now do just that.

You are arguing semantics here. It is true that nobody is proposing a complete ban but the progressive ban will achieve the same goal over time. Anti gun fanatics have long learned that an outright ban is difficult to push through while small steps over the time achieves the same goal.

There are also tactics having the same effect as a ban. Look at how difficult and costly it is for a law abiding citizen to get a machine gun, which used to be quite popular. That's an effective ban even though it's called "restriction."

If the anti gun fanatics had their way, I am afraid you may still argue it's not ban because we still have our antique muskets.
