Well, not exactly....Obama tried to slow the withdrawal.

He then surged into Afghanistan and over 80% of US deaths there have occurred during his presidency.
There is currently no end in sight.

Obama has essentially followed Bush-Cheney doctrine for 4-years and counting. I voted for him in 2008 but didn't even bother voting in 2012 out of utter disgust with our on-going foreign policies.

You are so poorly informed I'm a little shocked that you aren't crediting him with closing Guantanamo too.

Anyone else remember that idiot Mitt "Flip Flop" Romney calling Obama's decision to the end the Iraq was as a "great tragedy"? And that even bigger idiot Rick "Dubya" Perry calling for a RE-INVASION of Iraq should he be elected president?

Thank gob those bozos weren't voted into office. GOBAMA!

Now the question remains: will the GOP whine just as loudly when Obama ends the war in Afghanistan?
You don't seem to recall that Obama tried to keep U.S. troops in Iraq but he failed (as usual).

It will end like Iraq with a 5K man private army to be run by the sec of state. Gotta keep that oil trading in US dollars.

It's not ending. Drones use is being ramped up as well as private military company use. The war is just going private sector.

Not this conservative, that believes we should not have a standing army on the tax payers dole, nor bases all over the world, like we are the rulers of the world or something.

But then again I am a Constitutional Conservative, not a Progressive Republican.

He has not had a desire to win that war since 2008, so he should have made arrangements to pull us out back in 2009 or 2010.

It's liberals and neocn Republicans who think we should be sticking out noses in everyone's business; playing world cop.

I agree about the medicare part D, but I'm surprised to hear a leftie complain about a government program.

"Tax cuts" do not cause deficits. Record revenue came in to the treasury after the Bush tax cuts.

Spending is the problem, as you indicated.

Well, at least we can be thankful for that part (though too bad Nader didn't run again, wasn't it...)?
