That's not possible in liberal mecca California. Nobody dies there, it's illegal.

Well, euthanasia might be acceptable.

But only for people over age 65.

Stop rationalizing this national tragedy. 32,000 people a year are dead in this country because of guns. It is one of the leading causes of preventable deaths. Gun violence is ramped and out of control. It is not happening in any other developed country in the world, just this one.

How you people can sleep at night, while this gun holocaust goes on is behind me. You all have a very sick fixation with devices designed to kill people.

Shouldn't it be "violence is ramped out of control" ? Or is it not violence unless a firearm is used ? Should we be looking at the reasons so many are willing to do these violent things ? Not the tools they are using ? Eliminate firearms and they will resort to knives, eliminate knives and they will resort to bludgening tools, elimintate those and well I hope you get the idea. The question shouldn't be why are people shooting others but why are people wanting to kill others. Death is death no matter what the tool is.

My issue from what I seeing is that not a single person on the forum rationally talks about the causes of all this violence.

I agree, because as soon as someone starts talking about the cold harsh truths it isn't PC or they are labled a racist.

Preventable deaths? How are you going to stop someone from committing suicide? Drug induced death has a higher rate than suicide and drugs are illegal. Japan has a suicide rate of 21.9 and they have one of the lowest gun ownership rates in the world. Pick any North European country and our suicide rate matches theirs.

It's true that the USA is more violent than European countries, but that has always been the case. Even when the gun laws were similar the USA was more violent, however we are living in the safest point in history. Now if you are a gang member or a drug dealer, then ok, your job is dangerous. But this society doesn't want criminals in its' presence. If you absolutely want to be a criminal then go work in D.C.

You have been provided studies from the FBI, Harvard, CDC, AIC, the UK home office, and you still honestly think guns are the issue? Well, that's precious, but I'm going to stick with reality.

here is a more important question then.

how many people have been murdered by governments since 1900. how can anyone with half a brain say we dont need limited government after seeing all the murdered people numbering in the 100's of millions in the 20th century.

49,315.
That's how many people have died from whooping cough since Newtown. CLEARLY we need to imprison or at least heavily fine parents who don't have their children vaccinated.
8772.
That's how many women have died - in the US alone - in childbirth since Newtown. CLEARLY we should outlaw pregnancy.
986.
That's how many people have died from falling off a ladder since Newtown. CLEARLY we need to outlaw ladders. [?QUOTE]

You are way off on your whooping cough statistic. The CDC reports that a total of 111 people have died from whooping cough during the period 2004 to 2008. That's a handful per year, so no way is it anywhere close to being in the thousands.

About 600 women per year die during childbirth, no where close to the number you posted.

I think some of your other figures are off also.
