And that is why he's got the opinion he does. His definition of combat is different than yours.
His is one of front line combat of a Vietnam or a World War II. In those type of scenarios - I'd agree with him
about women being in combat posing a burden.
Today's conflicts in Iraq & Afghanistan are more like a patrolling police officer type
than what they did in Vietnam and World War II. Not to take away from your
definition of "combat" but it's different.
Are you in the military? If so, what branch?
Not sure how you can paint the combat experience today with such a broad brush.
She's in the chair force, she's not cannon fodder.
Funny, you say that as if being a fighter pilot doesn't take any skill.
A little jealous?
It is funny, since in another thread he was going on about how skilled GWB had to have been to fly when he was in the National Guard. Singing a very different tune then, doncha know?
So I guess he never came into contact with female of the enemy variety or did he just not figure out that perhaps some of those 400 bullet holes in his Hueys were put there by women?
How about the siege of Stalingrad and the role women played in that epic battle?
Maybe his point is well taken if one considers the U.S. female might be hampered by the historical fact that the U.S. hasn't won a war since before Korea and that one is a draw to this day. Politicians prosecuting wars will simply lead to women being used and abused as set pieces on a chess board with hidden agendas over riding any effectiveness they might display.
Having the political "will to win" would be the first step to making female soldiers an effective fighting force.
