So, what about the Republican Senate plan to give Obama discretionary power over the cuts? Why are the Dems against that?

"Ok, Mr. President, you don't like the across-the-board cuts? Fine. Cut $86 billion from the budget however you want."

Why are they against this?

I am against it because it is the job of the Legislative branch of government. If they refuse to take it up and do it they should quit and let someone that will take over and do it.

Oh please, y'all are fine with him issuing Executive Orders every other day. Face it, he just doesn't want the responsible of having to actually make cuts. He and the Dems would rather whine about obstructionism. Well, this is the opposite of obstructionism. Where are they now?

Face it ~ neither do the Republicans. All along - they have wanted HIM to outline what cuts THEY wanted.

Not gonna fly. We'll have to live with what's in the Sequester.

Are you kidding? Every day in the news (maybe not the news YOU read) there are stories of Republican in Congress bringing up programs they would cut if given the chance. Then the next day, someone is trotted out to argue, "Oh no! That goldfish study is VITAL!"

BS. "IF" they were given the chance. Well - here's their chance. And they want someone else to do their dirty work for them. Typical.

You forgot about the "New Ice Age" from the 1970s that was going to freeze us all or starve us all or...
Oh, and remember Y2K? All the predicted disasters that didn't happen because our computers weren't smart enough to recognize the change from 19XX to 20XX?

Then the doomsayers wonder why very few believe them these days! Chicken Little comes to mind.

Why? Because it's a trap, designed to allow the Republicans in 2014 to run on "the Democrats cut $[insert amt] billion from [insert name of favorite popular program,]" -- the same way they ran on "saving Medicare" in 2010. You know Medicare, that's the program Republicans have been trying to kill since it was created and then they advertise that they are all of a sudden Medicare's savior.

You make yourself look very foolish by jumping into a conversation and applying positions to people based upon nothing more than your bigoted stereotypes.
