I think you'll be seeing a lot of well-known Republicans joining this bandwagon. Many have friends or family who are gay, or they are simply more moderate than the small lunatic Tea Party fringe which has kidnapped the party. These moderates realize that Republicans aren't likely to win another presidential election unless and until the public sees a voice of reason within the party, at least as to social issues.

In that sense it makes sense, but on the other hand this just another principle the GOP is trash canning in order to pander for votes.
When Barack Obama changed his mind no one accused him of pandering or trashing his principles. He evolved. LMFAO.

And these 3 have long supported this issue.

George Bush supported gay marriage way back in 2003. He just wanted to call it civil union.

Anyone that says this is pandering is a political hack since prominent Republicans have long showed support for this issue.

It's like being like Rush Limbaugh in reverse.

So it seems. There are more and more Republicans who push for gay marriage, and the mainstream Republicans who claim to oppose it are silent about them. But yesterday when Obama made a pro gay marriage comment they screamed "this is a declaration of war".

Isn't that strange? They condone/approve Republicans who push for gay marriage, but if a Democrat does the same, it is a "declaration of war".

Go figure.

It sure seems the whole issue is nothing but a political pawn for them, which they use to pander for the support of the Christian community.

Log Cabin Republicans have been around for awhile. I've met many gay republicans who believe in all the tenants of the Reublican party.

More people advocating for rights is a good thing. Yes even 2A.
