Texas Teacher Reportedly Threatens to Give Students Zeros on Homework Assignment for Writing About Guns | Video | TheBlaze.com

No criteria was given, just an experience where you had a nice time. We need to shut down this crap. Teachers have gone over the top. I now am on the side of Gov. Walker. Shut down the NEA union.

So, when I went to school we had the same type of assignments and were told what was off limits. No one went to the press or threaten legal action or to fire the teacher. We did what we were told or suffered the consequence. School is not a democracy, you are there for one thing and one thing only.

The first thing I thought to myself was that a teaching asking a student to write a paragraph about something they did over the weekend seems like maybe a 3rd grade assignment.

Why was the teacher being so lazy and allowing his students to be so lazy?

Yep, teacher certainly made a mistake. Give an open ended assignment like that to teens and you need to be prepared for a wide array of responses... and you better be willing to accept all of them.

So if students choose to right about getting drunk the teacher should not tell the students it's inappropriate?
