Yeah but the decline in crime started in the 1990's. I don't think it's as simple a comparative as that.

There are a number of reasons for the drop in crime, I wouldn't say that guns are a major factor either way.

All I think this shows is that anti-gun hysteria is BS.

I think there is no correlation between the two. Crime is falling mostly because lead was removed from the environment, the fact there are less young people per capita might have something to do with it as well.

My problem with gun culture is actually that it creates, or reflects, a poor state of our psychological health. We are terrified of other human beings in this country, to the point many of us feel a need to be armed at all times. It's really quite sad.

Geez another extreme. Of course there is going to be "some" correlation.

Some attribute it in large part to the legalization of abortion ~20 years before the drop started.
