Seems that we got into the housing bubble because people who could not afford mortgages got them. Now we want to do it again
That's because liberals did it entirely the wrong way and I know how to do it right.
Liberals wanted to put (almost) everybody in a home, even if they couldn't really afford it, by tweakint the rules and prodding lenders.
I would maximize property rights and economic liberty, and allow a willing seller to sell property affordable to a willing buyer, without government coercion or subsidy.
What that means is I'm not going to twist any arms (like Barney did), but I'm not going to stop a property owner from selling a postage-sized lot as long as the property meets reasonable standards such as setbacks.

I still don't haven't read what problem the flat tax solves. It is based on the fallacious belief that one rate is fair for all regardless of income. Since those at the lower end have little or now disposable income after expenses, how is it fair to add to their tax burden when the rich have loads of savings after expenses?
It is fair. They still pay much higher taxes in $$ value.
I would approve of a Flat Tax so long as it included all income for all sources and excluded the bottom 95th percentile of the population. This tax would place the burder of maintaining and defending the country on the people that own the income from this country. That would be a fair flat tax.

There's the problem. I've already explained how such a belief incentivizes the federal government to promote as much of an income disparity as possible: //www.city-data.com/forum/28408183-post447.html
I remain hopeful that you'll eventually catch on to how you've been had...

If a home is safe and legal to rent, it should also be legal to buy and to sell.
How do you maximize property rights to allow a seller to sell at affordable
