It's good to see that a good number of firearms manufacturers are getting on board with closing the police loophole with respect to gun laws. That is where police are exempt from firearms laws applying to the law abiding civilian citizens of their state. A number of companies have stepped up and will only sell law enforcement the same firearms and accessories (including magazines) that are legal for civilians in that state to own.

Here is more information: The Police Loophole

Good to see companies acting responsibly. THere is no reason for police departments to be exempt from state laws.

I like it. Police are far more dangerous with guns than citizen gun owners. Police kill 5.5 times more innocent people than citizen gun owners. Even though citizen gun owners shoot 2.5 times more criminals than police.

The one thing that keeps us some what safe is most cops cant hit the side of a barn if they were trapped in the barn.

Oh here we go again, cop bashing. I heard, he heard, they heard. Cops this and cops that. Citizens don't face well armed criminals day in and day out like law enforcement does. Law enforcement officers don't make the laws. Some of the people here need to find out what goes on in the real world.

Yessir, like the cop in Great Falls, MT that blazed away with his handy-dandy 9mm, half a block from my house, emptying his weapon, and hit the perp twice, neither of which was life-threatening!
"Citizens don't face well armed criminals day in and day out like law enforcement does." TRUE! And, that is exactly why the cop should be a much better qualified marksman than the civilian! A cop missing 7 times out of 9, and the only two hits are non-fatal, is inexcusable!
That incident is only one of many, all across the country. IMO, a cop should be able to place all nine in a 5 inch circle at 50 feet. Consistently!
Anything less shows lack of proper training!

There was also that whole thing a couple weeks back when two cops fired upon a pickup with two women delivering papers in it, without any warning to stop, during the Dorner incident... even though it was the wrong type of and color pickup...

... and another one, which was also the wrong make and color:

True dat. Citizens don't face criminals as often as police officers. But, they are much more effective when they do.

The average number of people killed in mass shootings when stopped by police is 14.29
The average number of people killed in a mass shooting when stopped by a civilian is 2.33

Some do. Some face them more than the police. Some do it just to make a living.

C'mon now. Technically it was the wrong color truck. We don't worry about technicalities.

And it's easy to confuse Asian women with black men. Anyone could make that mistake.

And police safety is far, far more important than civilians. Just ask any cop.

Day in and day out, law enforcement spends far more time collecting revenue than they ever do "facing well armed criminals".
