Please re-read the US Constitution. This Nation has always shaped the rights of the people through vote; and in a representative democracy, the majority decided. When has that changed?
We're a Constitutional Republic. The majority is not supposed to dictate the rights of the minority. That's why civil rights issues are not up for popular vote.

Huntsman should have leaped over all political hopefuls by coming out in favor of bisexuals marrying two spouses. After all only a bigot would be opposed to that bit of human equality.

Equal protection under the law (vis-à-vis the 14th Amendment): a same-sex couple is not federally recognised as married despite the recognition of opposite-sex marriages. Now you might say that a gay man or woman could marry a partner of the opposite sex, but then you'd have to go back to Loving v Virginia, in which case yes, someone could marry someone of their own race, but it was still deemed unconstitutional.

You can bet that will become an issue at some point. You can't fight your sexuality after all and it would discriminate if the bi can't have a husband and a wife.

Huntsman - something is just off about the guy, besides his being a RINO. He reminds me of the weird dude in school that no one could figure out. Do not trust.

If marriage is defined as the union between a man and a woman, then how is this not Constitutional? If two men want to engage in a contract to share property, no one is stopping them, corporations do this all the time.

According to DOMA, federal tax benefits etc don't apply to same-sex couples. That's why it's inherently unconstitutional. Loving established the precedent:

"The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State."

Substitute race with sex and you get the idea.

So if a couple is infertile their marriage gets voided? Of course not, my mentally challenged friend. There are tons of childless couples who are never the less married so we know having children ISN'T the deciding factor when it comes to getting married or not. That's just you trying to justify your own bigotry and hatred and guess what? America doesn't buy your lies any more, it really is about equality before the law, and the side of bigotry & hatred, your side, has already lost.

I think you misunderstood him. He is arguing that the majority (in this case people opposing gay marriage) should not be able to restrict the rights of the minority (gays), in other words what's know as "tyranny of the majority." He's arguing (surprisingly given his user name) for allowing gay marriage.

It is easy to see where the Republican party is going. We got Cheney, Laura Bush, Colin Powell, Huntsman etc pushing for gay marriage, we got Rubio leading a group of Republicans pushing for amnesty for illegals and others like Ron Paul pushing for leganizing pot. I wouldn't say they are further left than Dems, but they are getting pretty close on social issues.

His cult doesn't agree with it and he is an active member. Do you think he would really go against it? Romney found himself changing positions a lot... maybe it's a Mormon thing.

I have no interest in ANY repug. They are the ones bringing us the Sequestration, they are not providing for what the majority want, only their self interests and their wealthy friends.
