A brilliant lot, over there at DHS. They put the especially-smart ones in TSA so they can strip search Grandma.

Because they will work 20 hours a day for crap wages, live 10 people in a 2 bedroom apartment, and send any extra dime "back home".

But why can't Americans be this hard working and frugal?'
The lazy can't compete.

That already happened because Repubs sold the country on deregulation, claiming corporations would create even more jobs and trickle down some of the profits. Perhaps you were you in a coma for any of the past 32 years? And guess what corps did when their profits were higher than ever? They moved the jobs abroad. So please spare me the continuing lies. It's been tried and the scumbuckets repaid this country by taking the jobs elsewhere. F__k them.

When it comes to employment, attitude is everything. With the right attitude, one is willing. With the right attitude, one is trainable. With the right attitude, one's potential is unlimited. < THAT is a fact.
And what does any of that mean if the right attitude can't even get you a job? You could be the most pleasant, willing, and ambitious person in today's world and that will do just about nothing to get you a job. The only way into work these days is with a referral. Every single person in my department at my company has been hired by referral since 2009! I work in an entry level position and NO ONE has been hired there without a referral from another employee. That is how pathetic the employment situation is today.

That's because they wanted more profit...

I am talking about small business regulations.

That's a pretty broad statement.

Being you have access to so much info, how about telling us the breakdown of what degrees these poor souls have?
What they hell does that even matter? If someone can devote 4-5 years of their life to any degree, whether it is actuarial science or liberal arts, I think that shows more than enough devotion to qualify for a petty desk job. Of course, the actuarial science major is going to have more opportunities down the road, but someone with any degree shouldn't be facing unemployment for years. America used to be better than that.

No it wasn't!! I remember engineers in the late 60's and early 70's flipping hamburgers for years while they looked for their first opportunity in their degree field. It hasn't been a smooth path for many in this society and now is no different than then. The only difference is the attitude of the people. Back then, you took what you could get and worked toward your goals. You didn't wait for someone to hand them to you... When I came back from overseas there was NOTHING. Everybody was out of work then too, but we all did what we had to do to overcome and for the most part we did it without the help of the government. It's not a question of opportunity, it's a question of drive and desire.

I wonder why they don't teach "insurance" as a major at any of the universities.
