That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard and what a waste of tax dollars. I can see the new inmate now being asked by the lifer, "what ya in for"? "I smuggled in a 64 ounce Slupree from Jersey". Doesn't New York have more to worry about other than soda pop?

What if the customer brings in and uses his own container? I've seen stores offering customer-container refills of fountain drinks and I've seen reusable Big Gulp containers that were sold by 7-11.

The people who voted for this scumbag get what they deserve. Which in New York, that means liberal idiots. (In that case, perhaps the beverage industry should let them wallow in their stupidity!)
