Quantify your comment. Just making generalized claims here and there is worthless when you discuss with me. Back it up, or... well remain quiet. /shrug
Sorry, but I've heard countless times the "if the citizens are armed, the government fears them" mantra: as a European who has lived in the South I can't tell you that southerners enjoy LESS freedom (and a worse QOL) than europeans...
I also think that - when it comes to civil rights - such places are seriously behind other western countries, as well as other USA states.
That's why I dislike statements such as

You go out and find me a society where there is no crime, no abuse of power, and justice is always met properly, and I will hand you my weapon. Until then, my weapon will insure you do the former. Got it?
Here is a little quote for you to ponder on:

I would not consider Switzerland to be an "armpit of the world". It is one of the most heavily armed countries in the world. I have also heard that most of the rest of Europe is officially disarmed but a whole lot of folks did not turn in the weapons left over from centuries of warfare.
I have carried a gun, with a permit, when I thought it necessary. Given the situation I would have carried one even if I did not have a permit. I value my life more than the rules. Always have, always will.
As far as the remarks about muskets are concerned, I have handled a 300 year old short barreled shotgun with about a one inch bore. That thing is a devastating close range, like inside a house, weapon as ever has been built.

Also, tell me: when and where the rest of Europe get officially disarmed?
Tell me, 'cause I'm really curious.

No emotional responses; statistics / facts only please.
I have no problem with you expressing your opinions, (I also believe in the First Amendment), I did not ask for opinions or emotion. I asked for facts.
I was asking if your response was emotional or fact.

Er, I gave you the example of Australia, but - according to you - it wasn't relevant... probably because your question was just a rhetorical question Rhetorical question - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
... unfortunately I didn't immediately get it
