Seriously, what did they expect to happen?
They're going to get someone killed for a reality show.

They were doing this long before there was a show.

It's too bad those pirates didn't have their little boat sunk. They could hitch a ride back with the whalers...maybe set them up with a sleeping bag in a hold full of whale meat. These attention starved morons are liable to get someone killed...at least if it's one of their own they are cleaning up the gene pool a bit.

What's your opinion on whale hunting?

I am entirely against it. Moreover, with increased research into cell cloning, the whole debate could be solved. People could still eat their whale meat and no further whales would have to be killed. But I realize cloning has its own controversy and issues.

I'm against whaling too.
I did a bit of browsing around and found 6 countries, including the US that still does this. Alaskan natives still consume whale meat and basically none of the mammal goes to waste, every part is utilized.

I think the Japanese are probably the worst offenders though.
I've also seen the Greenpeace activists trying to stop Japanese whalers too.

Meanwhile, the International Community is basically looking the other way.

I liken or compare the activists with modern day political dissenters, the problem with it, is that some people think it's funny when an activist's dissension becomes trampled upon, unless it's them getting trampled.
