Only half of the 85 Billion in cuts will occur this year. Obama is essentially saying that cutting the budget by 44 Billion will destroy the economy. Even though, due to increases, even with sequester we will spend more this year than we did last year - in fact spending will increase under sequester at a rate higher than CPI inflation.

Obama would have a lot of say how these agencies deal with the cuts that are actually still increases in funding.

Under sequester, the military will have more money than it did in 2012, if Obama wants to find a way to make that reduction in the overall increase of spending more painful - then that is on him and his fear mongering.

Obama went from the unfulfilled promise of "going through the budget line by line to eliminate waste" to fear mongering over what still amounts to increases in spending.

I challenge you to think for yourself. Do some research. You will find that under sequester government spending will increase in 2013 over 2012. That military spending will still increase. These are cuts to increases in spending for most of these agencies, with the net result of increases in spending.

As an American citizen, I implore you to drop the blind and thoughtless partisan rhetoric, research and think. Don't by into the fear mongering.
I guess you would have bought a boat, are using it and now decide you can't budget for it, so you don't pay the bank. You would then assume that would not impact your ability to use the boat or the banks ability to make money from your loan. Add to that, you had ordered a larger boat that a factory is scheduled to build but now they don't need to have people work on building the boat you ordered.

And it wont.

The sequester is $85 billion [8 days of spending] If you were given $90 to spend in 2011, $100 in 2012, expected to get $110 in 2013 but instead got $108, would you be whinning about 'draconian cuts'?
It's called Obama math. And since it's "other people's money" he doesn't care.

Gas prices for the life of me, keep going up. Going to buy a damn bike soon. Food is higher. Obama does not know how to get a booming economy going, when he is so busy, making the night-time talk shows circuit.

Don't make a damn difference if you have a degree right now, i know people who do and have graduated and cannot find a damn job. Why is that, in 2008 he promises us, that more people would be working under his adminsitration. Oh really.

Should have been a damn pop star, he is a legion in his own mind. Tell ya this, he is a damn good actor!
And he has convinced his lemmings that 8% unemployment for four years is a good job. And they just lap it up and make excuses for his pitiful presidency.

It would be very easy to cut $44 billion with ZERO impact to the economy. Just start with DEA, DHS, TSA and FEMA.
