That's how many people have lost their lives from gun violence since Newtown. How can anyone with a brain say we don't need some new gun restrictions? Ridiculous.

Don't you know? If we were all armed to the teeth at all times, there would be no violence whatsoever. We'd all be scared s.hitless that we could get shot at any time for the most innocent thing. You know, you don't hold the door open for the guy behind you and he gets p.issed and subsequently shoots you.

At least, that's how I have understood the argument that an armed society is a polite society. It's true, though, if I had to be afraid of getting shot every single minute of the day, I'd go out of my way to be super nice to anyone. Not that I would want to live out my life in servitude to fear - but hey, that's apparently what some people envision as an ideal for the US of A.

Come get it.

You will not take people's rights of self defense away. Murder is already illegal, whether it be with a knife or gun.

You forget to highlight the amount of crime in Chicago - GUN FREE CITY.....

Nah, you are missing the point. People think in extremes - it doesn't take a whole lot of effort for our little brains. Thus, when you say "restrictions," you clearly mean "ban." Right?

EDIT: See post above! It's a prime example.

Instead of wanting to regulate and better administer when a person can and cannot get a gun (or assault rifle), you clearly want nobody to have one.

You see, people LOVE this freedom so much, that it is worth any price. And why worry about a few thousand deaths? Other than when it's a terrorist attack - suddenly, dead people matter: People cry, whine, moan, and demand retribution and lots and lots of invasive laws to keep us safe. Not when it's homegrown violence, though - then that's the price of freedom.

So more guns is the solution for Chicago then? I don't agree.

Chicago has the highest murder rate in the country, yet guns are illegal there. What would you propose?

GUNS ARE OUTLAWED THERE....

So there shouldn't be any guns?

Why are there 10 murders there with guns every weekend?

HELLO MCFLY......

CRIMINALS don't follow gun laws!!!!!!

So lets see... if you outlaw guns, the only people with guns, will be criminals, who will now be able to invade your home and steal/kill.
