the parents' race was self reported. the 1962 kenyan census lists a race option as "african".

In 1961, before the civil rights movement.

Explain away.

In 1961 there is someone typing it out. Unless they were blind. It would not have said African.

race was self reported. read the article i linked to for other examples of "race" from that time.

Our resident birther is always good for a laugh, but I often times find myself what he will be posting about in 2017 when everyone officially doesn't care about Obama's birth certificate besides the OP.

Not on US forms, it was not.

In 1961, before the civil rights and political correctness, if you were black filling out a form in the USA, it was NEGRO, no exceptions.
