Hagel confirmed as Defense secretary

Partisanship sucks. And that means you suck, GOP.

The drama over NOTHING is what irritates me more than anything else. The end result of all the histrionics is that more and more people don't trust these "new" R's to tell the truth on anything. The minute they start blustering and blowing you just figure it's more of the same over absolutely nothing, and ignore them. I keep saying this, but it's "the boy who cried wolf syndrome." Their credibility is zero. There was never a good reason to filibuster the Hagel nomination, and the public knows that--it was all about the R's putting the country through yet another month of theatrics.

Do you realize why Obama nominated Chuck Hagel? Because he's considered a weak-willed, acquiescing, patsy who will roll-over to the President's every command. His performance in front of the Senate panel was complete evidence of his weakness as a person and as a leader.

Why do you think that the GOP opposed Chuck Hagel? Because he's a "yes man" of the highest order. Conservative personalities are typically opposed to "yes men" and instead seek those who have at least an ounce of testicular fortitude.

Chuck Hagel is not that man.

Typical sheep. If Obama want's him, he MUST be the right man for the job and those who disagree must be making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Are your knees sore yet?

As opposed to the sheep who figure if Obama wants him he must be the wrong man? The ones who will now pat themselves on their collective back and allege they fought the 'good' fight?

I never understood the opposition to Hagel. Vietnam combat NCO, check. Tepid, colorless Senator, check. Resembles a basset hound, check. No warning flags there. Not every SOD has to be a half-assed psycho like Don Rumsfeld. Or a middle-school vice-principal like Leon Panetta.

Plus, Obama is the President. He gets to pick who he wants. If Hagel ends up fumbling the ball, we all know who will get the blame.

That's right. Hagel.

LOL
