Well again, why haven't they advocated for civil unions w/ the benefits of marriage? I really believe there wouldn't be such controversy, if they pushed for this instead of trying to redefine marriage.
Why shouldn't gay people be allowed to marry whom they want to marry? As long as you are not being forced to marry someone of the same sex, what is to you?
To say you are against homosexuality is the same as saying you're against blue eyes. People are born they way they are. If you don't believe that, then tell me how how old you were when you decided to be heterosexual.
I would never discriminate against homosexuals, I just don't believe that men sleeping with men and women sleeping with women is a natural thing to do.
I think it would have been better for homosexuals to push for civil unions w/ the same benefits of marriage, instead of trying to redefine marriage to include same sex partnerships.
Marriage was defined as no one could marry outside their own race. Asian could only marry Asians, white could only marry whites.
The definition of marriage changed as recently as 1967 when Loving vs. Virginia was decied on by the US Supreme Court.
Marriage has been redefined throughout the years, to accommodate the modern concept of unity and of course legal issues. Its been nearly 50 years since Loving vs Virginia; its about time marriage is redefined to fit the modern world.

Personally, it is so I can go to my niece's upcoming wedding which gives me an excuse to buy a new suit and from what I am hearing about the preparations... having one hell of a parte!

Why not keep the institution intended to provide stability for families and not just two people who 'love' each other and want to masturbate on each other with benefits.
