The problem is, far too many males are hooked on porn, and guess who controls that industry. The porn industry pushes fringe acts, and since many males watch porn, overtime, they begin to believe that this is normal.
Nevertheless, the majority of women do not engage in anal sex.
Yes, of course it was illegal, but the illegality stemmed from Jim Crow laws.
So what? Gays are prevented to marry because of DOMA and individual State Constitutions. It took the voters to overturn that belief in 9 states, however their marriages are still not legally recognized federally.

Again you're hung up on the sex. A gay couple can be married and not have sex, so what does "act of sex" have to do with anything? Marriage isn't about sex. Its about love and support, and a couple doesn't need to engage in sex to show and have either.
And they weren't prevented from socializing (seeing as you'd have to, in order to business and do everyday things) They weren't allowed to get married.

they are being discriminated because they CAN't marry the person they love, who happens to be the same sex. I don't know why this is hard to understand.
If you were prevented to marry the man you loved because say, he was Jewish and no woman but a Jewish woman could marry him according to law, wouldn't you feel as if you are being discriminated against, because you are not Jewish?

Against the law at the time. They were arrested, charged and had to endure a long trials, where their private lives were exposed to the world. The state wanted to catch them in the act of having sex, so they could put more charges on the couple, thereby adding to their "criminality".
In the end, it got to change the law in Virginia, but states up until the late 60's still had laws in the book that interracial marriages were still illegal.

Although that obsession seems to be a common theme among those who are the most vocal against marriage equality.
Personally, I find that obsession to be rather creepy.
The most strident homophobes always give these really graphic descriptions of sex acts that they attribute only to gay men (e.g., anal sex, teabagging, etc.). It's REALLY bizarre!!! Why spend time thinking of and describing people doing acts that supposedly gross you out? Of course, a student in a Psych 101 class could probably proffer the obvious answer to this question.
