Having "Monarch" Michelle Obama as an 'uninvited guest" at the Oscars is kinda like some kids having an automatic weapon that TV (or ABC) doesn't really need.
Yea it was totally inappropriate for the First Lady to host an Oscars party for our military soldiers....she should have been like a Republican and totally ignored and trashed our soldiers and had hosted the Wall Street banksters instead.
No-one was forced to endure her presence. If you don't like her, (which I don't) change the channel. Who really cares about the Oscars other than actors anyway. It's really pretty ridiculous.
What I don't understand is the next morning the media outlets were citing her "Let's Move" campaign as the reason for her appearance, yet it's not as if it was mentioned or promoted in the least! She was presenting an award, it had absolutely nothing to do with her campaign.
I can see how people would get annoyed with the appearance, because it really isn't about a single appearance. The Obama's have not stopped campaigning for a very, very long time. They seem to be on many entertainment shows, morning shows, and evening news, you just can't escape it. The media is constantly presenting them as cool and hip, and politically there is and has been no wrong done, it is always someone else's fault.
It is for a reason that Michelle showed up.. the support of Hollywood for Obama is a pay back.. and of course goes well with the young people.. just another power grab toward the younger generation to see Michelle and that connection will stay with them.. Obama wants the minds of the young.
I don't see why it is hard to understand. The guy made his case pretty clear. The show is about people in the entertainment industry, so people in the entertainment industry should be on the show.
You're taking the term uninvited guest too literally. He wasn't claiming she showed up without being asked by the show's producers. He was saying it was an unwelcome sight for people who tuned in to see celebrities in entertainment to see a politician's wife.
I don't agree with the guy. I think it's fine for the First Lady to be a presenter on the academy awards show. But his point is pretty clear even if you don't agree with it.
And the Super Bowl is about football - yet Ronnie Reagan had no problem doing the coin toss. And righties ATE IT UP so I'm taking this article with a grain of salt.
Yup Michelle was doing her duty like any good filly in the stable for her long legged mack daddy that night.
