But you think Dems are all about compromise??? LMAO. If it was a good budget, they would have voted for it, it obviously was not. That's how things work in DC. One side isn't supposed to just give the other everything it wants and call it compromise.

No, I think Congress is failing us by being unwilling to compromise.

Again, please read the link. It explains beautifully why the Senate has to have Republicans crossing the aisle to vote with Democrats on budget bills. And, no, Republicans aren't going to cross the aisle, for a good budget or not, when their party can rain down punishment on them for doing so. The losses during the last election have made the Republicans even more obdurate about keeping Republicans in line. Their problem isn't the moderate Republicans, it's the more conservative Republicans who feel even more loyalty to the Tea Party than to the Republican Party that are driving a wedge of division in the GOP.

But if you are going to comment about the proceedings in the Senate, you need to understand the rules that govern those proceedings. And that is what the link does, it explains the rules. Please read it.

And the article, by the way, isn't about Congress passing budget legislation. It's about how the Senate rules differ from the House rules. Please read it. It's from The Economist, not a partisan news source.
Are you really aruging there is justification for the Senate not passing a budget over the last 6 years?
(Note that during the last period of democrat control of the House, they did not pass one for all of those years)

I'm not arguing anything. I'm asking people to read an article that explains the difference between the House and the Senate rules when it comes to budget bills, so that they have a better understanding of what's been happening during the past six years.

The article is from The Economist, it's not partisan in any way. It's purely informative.

Sure, let's discuss that. The House passed more than one budget. If the senate doesn't like it they debate it and change it. It then gets voted on and sent back to the House. Now what happened. The House passed a budget and Reid simply shelved it to die. No discussion, no vote, no anything. What exactly is the GOP suppose to compromise there?

Obama wants a balanced approach, reduced spending and more revenue. Te GOP wants only spending cuts. The bill in question only addresses spending and places the onus on the President to make those cuts, so the GOP can blame him for whatever cuts are made.

The bill is a trap and Obama is right to not fall into that trap.

I thought the GOP wanted spending cuts? Looks like they are about to get what they wanted the whole time.
