Wondered if anyone else uses the terms Labor and Management instead of Liberal and Conservative? Labor and Management used to be the defining terms of the US body politic. Labor referred to the working class and Management to the ruling class. If someone engages me in a conversation about Liberal vs. Conservative, I explain I don't use those terms and instead use Labor and Management because that better reflects the actual situation of voting my interests. Since I am a working class person, I vote in favor of anything that helps the working man, and I vote against things that help the ruling class. The terms Liberal and Conservative have ceased to have meaning for me, although traditionally Labor was associated with the Left and Management the Right. Any opinions on this?

My opinion is it is dumb. Liberal or conservative is more than fiscal issues. Abortion, gay rights, 2nd amendment, militarty presence oversees, all of these have nothing to do blue or white collar.

Very dumb indeed. Shows the utter narrow mindedness of some people.

Because managers can't be liberal, and hourly employees can't be conservative

It's not labor and management, it's

WORKER AND OWNER.

The owner assumes an economic risk and then hires a worker...

,,,As a side note, bankers are owners of wealth.

how about 'working class' - that's a very offensive term really.

don't we all work in some way or the other?

The working class does not own much, if they have to work for a living. They do not take much financial risk in the grand scheme of things.

However they do take risks by electing politicians.
