So, bob said something and now the left hates him, no matter what the past 50 years says about him?

Is that not the entire premise of your OP?

I'm sure you consider me left and I don't hate Bob, so there goes your entire premise. Besides, this isn't about hate or left versus right.

Many people dislike him now, because of 1 statement....that is the premise of your thread, right?

People will take a comment someone made out of context to demonize them. Look at what happened in the Scalia thread. No one actually knew what they were talking about, just worked off the headline. 95% of the people in the thread didn't even know what was being challenged in court, they just would rather be upset than educated.

Depends on the statement.
Todd Akin managed to "define" himself
with an incredibly stupid statement.

Stop playing ignorant word games.

Here, kindergarten easy:

People (maybe not you but many others) now (on the left) no longer respect (define) a person (Bob) who has had a tremendous career (longer than most of the people that are now mad) because of what he said.

I cannot break it down any easier for you, you can play words all you like, you know exactly what I mean. \

I'm not talking about a history of comments but one particular comment. Do you feel that one comment defines what the person is all about? Does it define you??
Depends on the statement.

Oh, the irony! The right vilified Woodward for years, but he says one thing that they agree with and suddenly he's their hero.

Same with the left.....and look what happened with few little words...

Bob went from a leftist hero to a zero....
