What's happened to this countries journalist where they are more like reporters now rather than being objective journalists ? Why is our government pushing so badly to go after whistleblowers like bradley manning and Freedom fighters like julian assange ? Is it that this countries journalistic ethics have been so badly degraded by big business that they are now afraid to do there jobs ? It's a shame that in this country most people would look to jon stewart and stephen cobert for news rather than cnn, msnbc, and fox news. What does that tell you as an american and how far this empire is crumbled ? WE in this country used to stand for something, WE in this country used to be a shining pillar to the rest of the world, so what happened ?

I think if you will check jouranlism has always had strong connnection top politcal figures who feed them. They need sources and thsoe sources have a agenda as they always have. The fact is now we get news slanted by different sources because their are so many. often journaism opinion is often like eharing the summatio of the defense or the preosecution only i a trail;one sided. One only has to look at yellow journaism;the corruption and control of news in the past plus even lookig at the name of many older nwspapers which were the news sources of the past as many ended in democat or republican.

"Freedom fighters?" A rather sick characterization, to my way of thinking.

Manning violated civilian law AND the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and Assange violated civilian law, and that makes them "Freedom Fighters"?
This old retired military dude simply looks on them as "criminals".
sorry about that, that's the way I see it.

Manning should be hung for treason. The only reason he went in the military is because his father forced him to.
