What I like about the Jews and Irish is that they know that the dominant groups who run things (English, Capitalist fat cats) will absolutely ********* given the chance. You have to figure out their game and kick their ass at it (the Jewish approach), or tell them if they don't treat you right, you'd love nothing than to stick a knife through their ribs, and twist it, while looking them straight in the eyes (the Irish approach). Both work. The problem is, both groups run things now, and they are often as rotten as the English, and even better at being ruthless bastards.
im not sure which famous thinker uttered the following
" the irish and the jews dont share a heritage "
" they share a psychosis "
might be true , might be bullplop
we,ve both struggled to attain respectability and secretly revelled in not having any though truth be told , the jews are much more creative , radical and non conformist , irish people talk a good game but rarely walk the walk, at least the ones who live in the homeland
We should celebrate and learn Irish history all year, just as we should do for Black history.
Ok, but keep in mind a month is better than nothing.
Quote:
I am opposed to any designated history months that serve to diviide rather than unite.
Frankly I find that the division isn't coming from the celebrants but from those opposed to designated months yet who did nothing and are doing little to integrate the history of our diverse people into everyday curriculums.
Considering that at one time or another they were the most hated white people on the planet, I'd say that it's a tie.
By the way, that is why they both have produced great literature and comedy. If you don't get the blues there isn't much to say or to laugh about.
I'm "Irish" and we def changed from the "shanty" to the "lace curtain" in what, 100 years? Tho we do still have more problems with drinking and mental illness than many other groups I'm sorry to say but we ARE getting better!
Remember, Margaret Mitchell created Scarlett O'Hara - her dad was a passionate Irishman. Tara is the ancientl seat of Irish kings.
