LOL No.

Some are offered it at the employee's expense, with NONE paid by the employer. We own a pizza franchise, I think I know what low paid people are offered. I've worked mostly in retail and restaurants for most of my working life, so again, I think I'd know. Having it offered and paid by the employer is quite different from having it offered to be paid at the employee's expense. Even when I worked as a teller at a credit union, I was not offered health insurance.

What does living in Florida or any other state have to do with this topic, anyway?

Obamacare was not intended to reduce costs; it was intended to increase the Democrat voting base by ensuring health care coverage for everyone. Since most of the people who didn't have health insurance before Obamacare were poor, health care costs will have to rise to cover them.

I will not think just for myself regarding this issue. Far too many people that I know have had their lives destroyed by debt due to medical bills for me to just think of myself with this issue. We all share this society and I want it to be a healthy society.

And regarding how you think low skilled workers shouldn't have affordable access to healthcare. That is just utterly disgusting. Anyone who said that to me would get nothing more than my middle finger up their nose because so many of my family and friends are part of this hard working demographic. One day, someone who you care about (if you care about anyone) will get sick and will benefit from the healthcare reform that Obama gave this country. I hope at that time you will be a little bit thankful!

If you think that by not having a form of universal coverage will keep costs down you are simply touting a political party's talking point.

The poor and the self employed are the greatest percentage of uninsured.
Preventative care costs far less than reactive care that takes place in a hospital's ER.

That reactive care is the primary cause of skyrocketing insurance rates for those that are insured.

Read my previous post that is logic based not emotional based.

When I worked at a bank I was offered and it was paid for by my employer.

The only people I know t5hat have been effected by Obamacare are thsoe who employers adopted the madates by year ago lst october to be grand father under its terms. Mine company did so. Others that have pre-existing medical condiditons that are truned down have alos started being covered altho I read its stopped for now from runnig out of funds. A freid who was terminal was palce under it when he was refused insurance. He dies last month so I don't know deatils excpet he said he apid 400 dollar a month in premium cost> exchanegs will not be function until 2014 if everything goes as planned. Also under certain income level people will not eb aqble to buy from exchanges but be placed in medicaid program.that si because states will start paying for part at higher numbersw in 2017.CBO now estamtes at last reprot that by 2020 ;25 milio will still not be covered by any program or insurance.

Having moved to Australia, and having National Health Care (called Medicare), I have to laugh at the poster that said the US has the "best healthcare system in the world" Thanks for the chuckle Maybe the best WEALTH-care system. It's refreshing to be in a country where decent folks won't lose all they worked for their whole lives over an unfortunate illness or accident. No one has to go bankrupt because some greedy HI company declined them for some reason. And yes, when I lived in the $tate$ I practiced the "personal responsibility" that so many self righteous posters prattle on about. I took excellent care of myself, ate healthy, no smoking, no drinking, no drugs, safety first, and health first. But then I got Ulcerative Colitis, and my health care nightmares began. Even though I'm cured from that, and am in excellent health, I could not get insurance (and therefore, care) on my own. I went to the doctor once a year for my physical and that was all, but still got declined. So after my employer shut its doors, I did the $500 a month Cobra, or risked losing everything I worked for over the last 30 years. Sad isn't it? Now here in Oz, I no longer need to worry about that-it's taken care of. No system is flawless 100% of the time, but having experienced healthcare here vs Wealth-care in America, I choose Australia. Maybe it's that the Aussie attitude leans towards helping out those less fortunate, where in the US it's more "I've got mine, screw the rest of you" because we ALL know that folks going thru hard times deserve their misery due to laziness etc.
