So the President's lack of leadership and the Senate's refusal to meet with the House have nothing to do with it? In your mind, of course. Blame goes all around to all three entities so let go of the President's leg.

This "cliff" is nothing but posturing by all sides. A decrease in the rate of increase is not a "cut". Local governments have been cutting for several years as have taxpayers. In the case of local governments it's been real cuts in revenue, not just a cut in the rate of increase.

You must have not read my original post. Congressional Republicans = 70% everything else 30% (including the Senate & Executive Branch)...

We need to hold federal employees to the same standard.

The FAA gets 80% of it's money from us in user fees and 20% from taxes.
They are using that 20% to shut down towers.

Targeted shutdowns to DIRECTLY affect us.
Oh we're going to feel the pain; they are making sure of it.
Being held hostage by your own government is what it amounts to.
On Tom Sullivan's radio program a few days ago, the topic of closing down control towers was discussed at length. Several knowledgeable callers talked about which airports might be effected. All agreed that controllers were not necessary at these dinky airports, and that they should have been closed long ago.

For those not familiar with Sullivan, he is, IMHO, the most under rated talk host on the radio today. He is quite knowledgeable, has conversations with guests, his call screener is first rate which means great callers, and as a result his audience is well informed.

Fact is, every one of Obama's and his bots have lied about what is going to happen, and those defending Obama's positions are ignorant. Sorry that there are so many who buy the lies lock stock and barrel.

Gee, they can't put that on hold and keep FAA towers open instead ?
My position exactly! It is practically a no brainer to find 85 billion in pork to cut. Oh but that would mean alienating certain congresspeople and those who have bribed their way to favor.

Many conservatives are too dense to know what the FAA is or what it does to keep them from dying when they fly their oversized butts across the country on commercial aircraft.
We are not so dense as to know that pin head Obama will cut our services, and meanwhile will give billions to foreign countries anyway.....

It comes as no surprise to me to understand the true and real meaning of Obama. The entire agenda has been to turn the USA into the next 3rd world country since his day 1.

That's fine with me. Now if you lefties don't give 2 flyin' rat's ass's i sure don't. I won't lose anything but you all will.

Meanwhile Obama will be funding nukes in the Mid-East and no sooner does Iran get one, then Egypt will and so will every other dirt bag sand pit over there.

Good luck with that then, and all because you jokers had to vote in the puppet.

I call this Just Desserts

you should be blaming 70% on the democrats in the senate and the president. understand that obama has the option of where to cut spending, an dhe is choosing to cut needed services. you can also lay a lot of blame on harry reid who refuses to do anything with bills sent to the senate from the house. the sequester could have been avoided if reid had just put up one of the two bills sent to him by the house for a vote.

Many towers, like the one that is here in my town, are unmanned. You get some readings, you call out which runway you're coming in on, and from what direction, but the tower is unmanned.

People don't know enough about flight, and they overreact when they hear this.

Its not as bad as it sounds.

You'll never convince him. 0bama's base is so incredibly dumbed down they're way, way beyond any hope of understanding. It was somewhat amusing watching them fall, like dominoes, one at a time, face first, splat, all active braincells lost forever. Gone! Poof! America is on life support.
