Sequestration impacts, state by state estimates from the White House - The Washington Post

Click on the military tab. I thought Republicans loved the military.

Or Child Care. I thought Dems loved children.

Congress really cares about those core things. They care so much that they gave 'em all a big finger and said "We don't know how to do our job, so #$@% all of you."

Nice.

Why is the federal government giving money back to the states for teachers?

There's no reason why states should have to get money BACK from the fed to pay teachers in the first place, there's also no reason why states should be paying for day care for people. Pay your own damn bills.

Now would be a nice time to end all revenue sharing. Then the states would not be at the mercy of the Feds for their operations.

BTW, it's Obama who chooses where to make these miniscule cuts.

How can you lose something you never had

Its like when my wife comes home from shopping and tells me she only paid $75 for a $100 item and goes on to exclaim " I saved $25" And I say no you didnt, you spent $75 and saved nothing

True that. It's like if I promised you 100 bucks and gave you 75. You had nothing before, so you lost nothing. You probably didn't even have plans for that money you didn't lose.

I looked at the education part for Ohio and it is not the end of the world because we have a rainy day fund. Do you know why we have a rainy day fund? Because we elected a fiscal conservative Gov and he chopped the budget and turned it into a surplus. So if Kasich chooses and I trust his judgment he will restore the education funding. Or maybe he will see some waste and chop it and restore some of the funding. Due to a real fiscal conservative we are sitting pretty.
