TSA: Hiring freeze could double checkpoint waits
WASHINGTON -- The Transportation Security Administration announced Friday it would adopt a hiring freeze and reduce overtime spending in response to federal spending cuts -- a move it said could double wait times at checkpoints at the busiest airports.

This just gives you more time to chat up your neighbor in the line, have some kids, get married and divorced, become an angry old man, and yell at some kids to get off your lawn. Then, finally, you can show your passport before you expire.

I heard 6-10 hours just to get past the gropers. That almost means you need to show up to the airport the day before your flight so you can check in.

The biggest drag on getting through security is not the TSA but the morons who think they can walk through with half a ton of metal jewelry on them and a couple of bottles of water.

As for myself, as a member of the CBP trusted traveler program, I get expedited screening at TSA checkpoints. But I will wave to you all as I whizz past in the fast lane.

How many different posts are you going to start about the sequester? 1/5 of the posts on the first page are already about the sequester, maybe you could post there.

Completely unnecessary to cause these annoying delays by freezing TSA hiring, when they could save even more money by simply firing all the TSA employees they already have.

I always hated it when they search your stuff and you have a Top Secret .. or (now) A Secret clearance. At one time I worked for the FAA and had a cleared personnel badge. My current job has a clearance, which I won't say for what, and they are still gonna search me. I worked at @#$#@@#$ NORAD for 4 years and probably could've started world war 3 ( this is not a joke). Didn't matter. Every time I flew with an ending city that was in the Middle East, I got the full screening.

But hey, I'm holding a bottle of water so TAKE HIM DOWN.

18) November 9, 1979: Computer Exercise Tape At 8:50 a.m. on November 9, 1979, duty officers at 4 command centers (NORAD HQ, SAC Command Post, The Pentagon National Military Command Center, and the Alternate National Military Command Center) all saw on their displays a pattern showing a large number of Soviet Missiles in a full scale attack on the U.S.A.

What a great idea it was to have the federal government take over airline security from the inefficient private sector

Only a completely brain dead moron would believe the scare tactics being thrown out by Democrats about this reduction in spending increases.
