I counted them all, and 85% of things are closed on Easter. For Thanksgiving, it was around 95% and Christmas 99%.
Where I will be moving in North Jersey, everything is closed on Sundays except restaurants.

When MLK Jr. recame a National Holiday I remember losing the other three. They combined Lincoln's birthday with Washington's and make it President's Day
I don't think Good Friday was ever a national holiday. I can't find anything yea or nay. The stock market, which can always think of a reason to close, is closed on Good Friday.

Good Friday has never been a federal holiday yet. Hopefully one day it will so we are not backwards like other countries!
