This is a pretty obvious case of corruption and conflict of interest. The judge should definitely excused himself from the case. I wonder how much more it's going to take before people get tired of the bs and stand up to corruption like this?

So, the judge is automatically biased?
What evidence do you have of that?
What has he ruled on other cases of similar charges?

Whether the accused is guilty or not guilty is not the question. Whether the judge would be bias or not is not the question. Conflict of intrest is does not have to be proven.

Everyday in America, judges from traffic court to the Supreme Court requse themselfs from hearing cases, not because the know they would be bias, but because they want to remove an indication of bias.

More importantly, the decission does not stop in that court and with that judge. Our judicial system is replete with oversight.

The cop can only be tried in Federal court on civil rights charges. That is the victim's only recourse at this point.

Just FYI, about 80% of Philadelphia Traffic Court judges were just indicted for fixing tickets and other corrupt actions...........

I dont believe that's completly true. The DOJ has been asked to investigate; and I'm more than sure "judicial review" is up comming. Other lawyers will take it from here. The plainitff's lawyer may be up to scrunity as well for his actions in advising his client.

As they say...the jury is still out on this one.

Pretty interesting. 80% is a number I never would've expected. What happened to the judges?
