There are indeed a lot of pharmaceutical errors, and the fewer hand-written scripts and the more checks and balances in the system the better.

But you have to remember that the people receiving drugs are sick and all drugs have side-effects, often lethal. That also plays a role.

Actually they passed a law in NY to track patient prescription histories through a database and check for abuse, long overdue. We have not heard a word from the constitutional protection people, imagine if the was a database for gun owners.

I hope it's not just to check for "abuse." Equally important is for there to be one central record of all the pharmaceutical prescriptions a person has, since it has been shown that especially for the elderly, sometimes multiple doctors are prescribing drugs that do the same thing, or even drugs that should not be taken at the same time. That is a product of our private fragmented healthcare system.

The primary focus is doctor shopping or using multiple doctors to acquire prescription drugs, although it could be of assistance for medical reasons I don't believe that is the focus.

Do you have any doctors in your family? I do. I'll tell you what overwork is. Overwork is when insurance pays sh_t for medical treatment provided to patients, which is what's happening now. As a result, doctors are having to book more patients to make ends meet.

What amazes me about right wingers is their denial. Rush Limbaugh is a drug addict, he was guilty of fraud, he was arrested, and there you are, defending him as if he were paying you. How very sad.
