Why should you be concerned about cutbacks? If you work in the private sector, it doesn't affect you. I see this nothing more than left-wing fear mongering.

This liberal doesn't think the cuts are the end of the world. But it's not true that the private sector isn't affected by government spending. Government spending is vital to the success of the private sector.

My wife will be furloughed starting sometime next month...loss of pay will be about 1400 bucks a month.

I will get a steep pay cut, and could be on the chopping block by the end of the fiscal year if the impasse is protracted.

Oh well. My wife can actually use the extra day off per week to finish up her post grad studies, and if my job situation becomes too tenuous, then I'll just resign my position and go work elsewhere. I have a wide skillset ftom blue to white collar, so I'm not sweating it one way or another.

So even with all that, I consider myself to be basically unaffected by the Sequester.

Thank you for reminding me why I am so happy to be liberal, to have the mindset that i have, and to NOT have the one that you possess!!

I'm a left-leaning moderate.

I'd consider that to be "liberal". I'm also a left-leaning moderate, but I just call myself a liberal. On certain issues, I'm probably more conservative than many moderates.
