As a Republican (fiscally conservative), I say just let Obama do what he wants. Retreat, live another day. Obama's political spin machine has too much of the public on his side.
What they need to do is think how they can win back the White House in 2017.

The well being of the country starts will everyone contributing. It's much easier when everyone "pays a little bit more" (using Obama's own words).
Obama gets his tax increases (loopholes closed). The public will understand that. And the public will also understand even with tax increases, we still have a spending problem.

Obama's voting bloc will start feeling the pinch with across the board tax increases. Right now. Obama is just cherry picking by making the wealthy pay.
Guess what? Raising taxes on the wealthy wont solve the spending problem we have in this country. Until across the board tax increases are implement will Obama's support erode. Cause when taxes hit home. That's when people's perception changes.
Right now asking the wealthy to pay doesn't affect John or Jane Public. Tie the poison tax increases to everyone (including the wealthy) in 2016 tax year. The public will take notice. Once they will be forced to contribute more to his health policy they will change their minds rather quickly.
Remember Obama won the election by about 3 million vote. Many of those voting bloc that decided the states like Virginia were in Northern VA. Most of those voters (making 100-250k) aren't directly hurt by Obama's tax increase. Implement an across the board tax increase. You flip those 3 million voters to the Republican side rather easily. That's how you win the White House.

I am cool with that, I wouldn't mind seeing the Republicans bend over and take it for the next four years. The best part will be if giving into Obama helps stimulate this country to where we have a strong economy again in 2016 which will make it even harder for the Republicans to win.

Democrats don't want this. If they close "loopholes" they give up an enormous amount of power.
They say it because it sounds good, but no way in hell they would ever do it.
If Republicans wanted to score some points they should pass a bill that closes all "loopholes" in the House and send it over to the Democrat controlled Senate. It would never come up for a vote.
P.S. Republicans don't want it either, at least they are honest about it.

We already implemented Obama's plans to improve the economy. They didn't work.
But somehow they will if we let him do more of the same?
