Beer, twinkies and scratch-off lottery tickets redistribute it right back up. I'm paying federal income taxes for about 14 people, and I figure those 13 dead-ass riders on my back probably never will have anything or amount to anything. Mainly because one political party rails against personal responsibility and preaches that unsatisfactory incomes or outcomes are due to the "rich" having their feet on the necks of the poor.

So I'd say wealth redistribution is definitely happening, but it doesn't stick because the poor and their leaders are too stupid. If only they would work on becoming more valuable to the rest of society!

You're giving far more to the rich than you are to the poor. Subsidies, corporate tax breaks, etc... all of these involve raising your taxes to pay for them, or they add to the deficit so that your taxes can pay for them later. Or the money comes from cuts to your schools, so your children pay for it.

Wealth redistribution is happening, but it's the rich who are getting most of your money.

Rich get more in Tax Breaks than the Poor get from Welfare | Global Research

You're paying for the rich's mortgages, businesses, executive pensions/severance packages, benefits, etc... and yet all you can do is gripe about the fact that you need to help the poor. It's pretty much absurd.

You're also paying for legal fees/cleanup when they pollute, get caught price-fixing, oh and you're helping subsidize their private jets, second homes, etc... there are tax breaks for those things, and they take that money out of your pocket instead of Richie McRicherson's.

It is amazing. The poor can get Food Stamps, Medicaid, EITC, Section 8, don't pay any federal income taxes, WIC if their kids are young.

The rich are smart and have done well in the stock market thanks to Obama and the Democrats.

I agree and offer this.

When one wants to show a young lady some object of affection and offers a rose it is the concerned and considerate one that removes the thorns from the stem. Government, in flowery phrase, will offer the stem loaded with thorns and require you to climb hand over hand arriving bloody and wasted to claim the rose. Government in that it owns anything obtains it by hook or by crook from the governed. When it offers it back or renders it to the people in any form that is redistribution.

Conservatives stand at the podium of hypocrisy to decry and deign any social program with party loyalty and principal as foundation, but on observation the ground crumbles beneath their feet. In their greed to gain the maximum share they would refuse anyone basic necessity of life such as food, shelter, health-care. Yet defend to the death their right to corporate welfare. *

Anyone while in the wild that has uncovered a snakes den and fails in imagination to see the similarity of currently corrupt*government has no interest in politics. Liberals fair no better as they slither through the halls of congress with forked tongues feeling the air for political correct verbiage and deposit the poison on the thorn. All the while claiming you dear citizen are the flower of their affection.

The above referenced article tells you everything you need to know about the far left: They look at government expenditures and reductions in taxation as the exact same thing.

The poor and middle class are paying for the tax write offs of the rich? How stupid do they think their audience is? Oh... never mind.

In the real world, the top 10% if wage earners pay nearly 70% of all federal taxes, despite earning about 45% of all income. After all of their ridiculous write offs, wealthy people still pay a much larger percentage of their gross income to Uncle Sam than the rest of us.

To borrow a phrase from our great president, that is not class warfare; its just math.
