This is only a rumor. The Venezuelan government has tightly controlled all information about Chavez' medical condition from the time he first went into the hospital on December 11th.
Other rumors have him being ill but conscious. In those rumors he is ordering the Venezuelan people must know of his medical condition, no matter how good or bad it is.
As of today, the government has said nothing about his progress at all.
I will miss his entertaining commentary like when he blamed the US for using their magic rays to cause earthquakes and whatnot.
He was no worse than some of our bannana republic dictators and despots we've backed over the years for various reasons ranging from the not so bad fight against communism to just sheer evil corporate raiding.
He's wildly popular with the poor in his country. Kinda shows you what can become palatable when all the wealth is in a few hands and people get desperate.
When Chavez assumes room temperature....will his most fervent admirer have a state funeral for him here or will he blow $20 million to attend the one there?
