Most of our first half dozen presidents were not born as US citizens, so that in itself is a bit of a pickle.
Secondly, were either of Cruz's parents a US citizen? What if a a mother who is a US citizen gives birth on a ship out to sea, is her child not a US citizen?
The founders had to exempt themselves for obvious reasons, they were the founders!!!!

Well, maybe Cruz is eligible. Lets see, Best proof would be ... ah ... birth announcement in a US newspaper would be a good start. Hmmm. Where might we find that re Cruz?
A citizen, is not the issue. To be President one must meet the criteria for Natural Born Citizen, US soil and 2 US citizen parents. The President is the only office in this country with this special qualification, and of course the VP.
The 14th amendment as written does not cover the situation in it's entirety.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Congress has clarified through legislation, such legislation has not been ovetrturned by SCOTUS. IMHO you are starting to sound like a crackpot.
Are you saying that Barry Goldwater was not qualified to be POTUS, purely because he was born in the TERRITORY of Arizona, and not in the UNITED STATES?
There was a president (don't remember name) in the latter part of the 1800s that most likely wasn't born in the US. He claimed Vermont but several people knew both him and his family and said it was Canada. Nothing ever came of it though. A Canadian birth certificate would end Cruze for president IMO.
Well...seems fitting, I mean yuh gotta guy who's far too good for the state of affairs in the general individual...so by all means find a way to disqualify the talent. Cruz is too smart and capable, he would excel things too quickly when we know the average looser really does need to feel the pain and learn in his own boorish way. He's gonna level the BS in every thing he touch's, so look out. Didn't watch him and Paul yesterday, didn't need to, both know exactly what they are doing. Thats the deal, no worries.

on what basis? Post the rule of law for eligibility and/or natural born citizenship. Then compare that to Cruz.
