To create awareness of the amount of sugar that is in soda. Have you ever eaten 16g of sugar by the spoonful?

Yes, he is a very rich man, thus is why he is a big name in investments in Manhattan and once he leaves office he will continue to grow as he makes more investments in this city.

Actually it is good to have awareness created on the public level as well. That is why we have public programs, information on tv, and information on the internet. It would be lazy to stop doing everything simply because one could just google it on the internet.

I could just google if their is any subway changes on the weekend, but I also like the fact that the city posts subway changes in the subway stations so I can read up on what is going to happen during the weekend.

No, but I have nothing wrong with a city, state, or country that wishes to be open about different health choices. If Bloomberg were to create an awareness on the importance of the dentist, I would be fine with that too, not because I need Bloomberg to tell me to go to the dentist, but because I think it is important to remind people that hygiene is a good thing to pay attention to.

I am sure where ever you live, the city government has been involved in things that benefit and create awareness for the public.

Nobody cares if a politician pontificates about his pet projects, it's when he decides to create laws to enforce his beliefs that it becomes a problem.

Depends on the definition of problem, I am happy to not have trans-fats in our food. There are plenty of studies that show it is working as well. So while you may think something is a problem, someone else might think it is a benefit to the public.

Besides, most people here buy their soda in bottle or can form. Have you ever tried walking around NYC carrying a huge 64oz soda? And how well does that place you bought that soda from clean their soda machine lines? I personally stick to cans and bottles.

Also, this ban isn't even a real ban. It doesn't prevent you from drinking soda, nor does it prevent you from drinking as much soda as you like.

a law isn't about making a choice or education. A law says, do it our way or suffer the violent force of government action.
I feel bad for those like yourself who feel such laws and threats are necessary in order to make personal decisions.
