The most common path to the NBA involves going to college.
Have you ever read what many of they courses are and they majored in? And doesn't apply just to blacks.
Dexter Manley a great defensive player who played for the Wash. Redskins, several years after he retired admitted that even though he "graduated" from college couldn't read.
There was a white QB who went to Ohio for 4 years and was drafted very high. He didn't make it in the NFL and went back to get his degree. Come to find out he hadn't even completed 2 years of college.
This was an excellent article because she compared apples to apples, with the only variable being race. I think it comes to the fact that when looking for the best real estate investment opportunity, many educated blacks are willing to bite the bullet, move to Whiteville U.S.A. and keep their fingers crossed hoping their kids won't be subjected to being "that black kid" in class. As long as white school districts are equal/better than predominately black school districts, why would whites subject their kids to being "that white kid" in class? This article makes perfect sense.
Hope this doesn't ruffle any feathers: I'm doing research for real estate investment purposes and notice that many of the lower priced cities I'm looking into have a very large population, sometimes a majority, of blacks. Examples: Dayton OH, Memphis TN, Atlanta GA, Jacksonville FL, Rochester NY. I'm from California, so I've never seen an area that has more than 20% blacks outside of Compton, and Compton is not the major city in the area.
Anyone know why black majority areas are often so cheaply valued? I understand that white flight has something to do with it, but would seem to me that if jobs disappear, blacks would also move? thanks for any insight
You can spend 23 bucks and start doing your research here.
Or are you just one of those ignorant conservatives who don't know history?
To be honest I am a bit ignorant on this subject, I only know the high level stuff that was taught in school.
