I can't think of any...

It seems I always have to decide between social liberty (same-sex marriage example) or economic liberty (low taxes example), why can't there be a candidate that believes in both.

Is there a less extreme Ron Paul out there?

We have pretty low taxes now, any lower and we really won't be able to pay for basic infrastructure needs to running a country.

We waste so much money on worthless programs. We have plenty of revenue if we didn't have so many little pet projects. Economic liberty is more than taxes. Many great massive projects end up never breaking ground because it costs them millions of dollars and many years to fight environmental groups in court. It ends up being too costly to continue the attorney fees, so they back out. We don't need a death tax. If your parents worked hard for their money and paid their taxes, why should you have to pay death tax on the money they worked and already paid for? These are just some examples.

What a load of BS that is.

A grotesque amount of our taxes go to non-government stuff like welfare. End that boondoggle and we'll have more-than-enough $$$$.

I voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 and I believe there should be a welfare system.

HOWEVER, I believe the welfare system needs to be completely revamped. There are too many moochers. It is too easy to receive welfare and too easy to keep it. You should be required to go to at least four job interviews and not be allowed to turn down a job offer.

You shouldn't be able to receive welfare if you have a nice home or car. The list goes on... I know way too many people that shouldn't be on welfare. Some drive a newer BMW model than me, yet they receive welfare simply because they put their home and automobiles under relatives' names. It's ridiculous!

The people who suffer are the ones that truly need it (example military veterans missing body parts) and tax payers.

Yep all one has to do is look at the growth is in spending by far. Its not basic service unless you think basic is entitlements to individuals. No one really disputes that you can lower spending with out stopping the growth in entitlements. Intime at growth rate medicare and mediaicd will sonsumer 16% of the 18% of all revenues governamnt gets leving 2% for everyhting else.Besides the subsidy to low income n state pools to low income the 15 million more placed on medicaid will just make thinsg worse. The designer know this which is why they want states to pick part the cost increase starting in 2017.Why Nelsen9D) of nebraska isisted on a exemption for j his state sayig it would bankrupt the state.

You ask a great question in the first sentence, and then give the correct answer in the second--except that you are EXCLUDING the correct answer.

You are falling for the slander campaign put out by the Republicrat Party, which will continue to use all of its vast powers to make citizens think that Libertarian candidates like Ron Paul are "extreme."

To you, which Libertarian ideals (which are what the nation was founded on) are "extreme"?

Is it wanting to end all these senseless and bankrupting "police the world" wars, when we're so deep in debt that our dollar is fast becoming worthless and the day of economic collapse races towards us? Libertarians would end that idiocy, but NO Republicrat will allow any change other than to increase the massive waste of money and lives.

Is it stopping the federal government from insane levels of overspending, thus racking up ever-more debt and interest costs; spending $1.40 for every $1 confiscated in taxes; and continuing to decrease the value of every dollar the citizen earns, invests or saves? The Republicrat Party won't stop doing this until our economy and nation have collapsed to 3rd world status--it's the path they both chose because the both want ever-larger government micro-managing every action made in the country.

How about stopping "The Drug War" and treating addicts through medical and psychological support instead? Everyone who ever studied the Drug War has concluded that it is a catastrophic waste of money that forces doctors to far under-prescribe pain medications for even the most legitimate cases. It also means that when you and your loved ones encounter a painful disease or accident, there's a VERY high likelihood that you will suffer for very long periods of time as health care staff either sell the drugs on the street or use them for their own addictions. It happened to my Dad, while he was dying of cancer in an $8,000 per month nursing home with full Hospice care. The Drug War also has destroyed African-American communities and families to the point of genocide. It results in the perpetrators of vicious criminals being set free after doing a tiny fraction of their sentences, due to overcrowding from non-violent drug users who harm nobody but themselves. Again, Libertarians want this idiotic waste of money--and all the unintended consequences--stopped. And again, NO Republicrat will touch this, or even allow the public to hear what damage is being done.

By asking your question, you seem to understand that he current ultra-corrupt radical Far Left politicians in Washington (whichever Party they call themselves) have created an economy where the once prosperous Middle Class continue to lose what little they have. Either we suffer total collapse that makes the Great Depression seem a minor blip on the screen, or citizens like you stop falling for the lies of politicians trying to protect their failed Big Government/Big Business experiment.
