Aren't you the one whom just replied to another post blaming Bush for actions the democratic congress was responsible at the time? Hypocrisy at its best - only from a leftie.

This President has a very low approval rating now - President - not just congress. And it is funny watching the lame stream media start to turn on him and his crooked cronies while the rabid BO lovers still cling to his promise of 'hope and change' all the while only receiving 'shame and blame.'

You mean during the time the Republican Congress was rubber stamping everything Bush wanted that caused all the mess of 2008-2009. I guess you can pretend and call those Republicans "Democrats" if that makes you feel better.

Presidents at 50, Congress is at 10%, Republicans about 20% approval.

American citizens aren't hard to figure out, time after time, they say the same 4 things.

1. Save social security with minimal, if any changes
2. Save medicare with minimal, if any changes
3. Raise taxes on people making over 500,000 dollars to match the same rate as middle income earners
4. Cut defense to make up the difference.

Neither party in Washington is listening.

Its low ratings all around. But Republicans are recording their lowest ever ratings in history and Obama is a good 35+ points above them.

That's right. Because the fact is that Social Security is required by law to be self-funded (Medicare is only partially self-funded). The reason why everyone is up-in-arms about Social Security is because Ronald Reagan stole the "trust fund" and used it to pay general revenue expenses. (One can only wonder how Reagan (the biggest "tax and spend" politician of them all) would stand up in today's political climate.

The Republicans - who are against all entitlements - claim that Social Security is "bankrupt". Social Security is not bankrupt. (An agency of the United States does not go bankrupt.) If there is any shortfall in Social Security benefits, it can be easily made up by "raising the cap". But, you see, that's not acceptable to the Republican millionaires - who don't have to pay any taxes.

Republicans are full of it when it comes to entitlements. They will only touch it if has democrats fingerprints all over their hands. They didn't reform it when Bush had control for 4 of his 8 years. He actually made it bigger. Notice how in the sequester, Medicare, Medicaid, and SS were exempt, but they let defense get whacked and other social programs get cut. Think about it, you refuse to raise the debt ceiling, and don't get any cuts from the biggest driver of our debt, which is Medicare, and you let defense get taken to the woodshed.

They could start with this:

The war is costing about $720 million a day or $500,000 a minute. The $720 million figure breaks down into $280 million a day from Iraq war supplementary funding bills passed by Congress, plus $440 million daily in incurred, but unpaid, long-term costs. Not counting the incurred, but unpaid, long-term costs, its still 8.4 billion a month.

Then you add the 4 years of war and you get $403.2 billion upfront and $633.6 billion in incurred, but unpaid, long-term costs, for a grand actual total of $1,036,200,000,000

President Hamid Karzai made some anti-American remarks lately. Well, then, we should tell President Karzai, seeya, and pull all of the troops out now.
