I guess the teacher will need to wear waterproof clothes from now on to be protected from this. Can't be too safe. At least nobody was threatened and they don't even know who the studen was running around with the squirtgun but they will face discipline. The patients are running the asylum.
"A teacher reported hearing a clicking motion, and thought a student may have had a gun," DeRuosi said when reached by phone Monday. "(Police) then found a water gun in the general vicinity."
DeRuosi said new surveillance cameras installed as part of the school's renovations last year will help identify the student who brought the toy to campus.
He added that administrators "have an idea of who the student may be."
"You can't take any of that stuff lightly today," DeRuosi said.
Though a police report was filed, the student will only face internal disciplinary action for the incident, Malden Police Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said.
"The item was located after school dismissed for the day, and no persons were threatened that we know of," Gatcomb wrote in an email.
Guys, you can't have it both ways. Either enhance security or not. And, if not, wait for the next crazy to shoot up a school. Then you'll be screaming "Why wasn't there better security?".
Schools all over the country, whether in "liberal" areas or not have, and are, implementing these types of procedures and rules. Some have had them for years. PA, which has more licensed hunters than the US has active duty military and schools close down for deer season, has had these types of gun laws in schools for years.
As a note, closed circuit cameras make administrators lazy(ier).
Good thing the police are here to protect us from squirt guns and pop tarts.
Don't forget plastic army men that decorate the tops of cupcakes. Because we have gotten to the point where teachers and schools cannot differentiate between sociopath killers and our soldiers.

Really? Why not? We took that stuff lightly from the moment the country was founded right up to the past couple years. But now we can't? Because a couple nutjobs shot up some schools? Hogwash. Banning squirt guns does not prevent school massacres.
