I suppose we could add Phoenix to the list since it is named after a bird from Greek mythology - making 6 of the ten largest cities having names with religious origins.

San Francisco would make 7 of the top 15 and it is named after the Pope, no less!

That's why I prefer liberal Seattle, named after some pagan Indian chief
