It's not over a hoax. The "hoax" (if it is one) is just the pretense. The government power that is required to lawfully enact the policies is the goal. There was a quote from Van Jones about that. That being "green" was the excuse to remake society. And Obama made him the green jobs czar, so you can't just dismiss that as wacko conspiracy.

Global warming is already melting the ice on the North Pole. And even small changes in temperature, could effect the way our main food crops grow.
