The common thread is you left out the complete facts. The water company will sell water good enough to use, but they will, if allowed to do so charge monopoly prices. No need to speculate since this is what actually occurs.

Government has nothing to do with it. It is monopoly. Anytime you have a monopoly you want it public because you may at least vote as opposed to private monopolies.

The grocery store for example was a better point. There is no monopoly. Government protection in terms of regulation is less effective.

What if the farmers Market dicided to continue to sale tainted food..according to Conservatists on this board. They should be free to do so.
They will go out of business of course. Common sense people, you need to use common sense.

Here's an easy one. I grew up drinking government approved C8 water. It wasn't safe, even though your leaders at the government told me it was.

How many mass recalls have you read about from Farmer Markets ?
Sorry, but they absolutely do have that authority now, and they use it (with good reason).

I made beef stock out of "dog bones" from the farmers market.

It's impossible to have a monopoly without government protection.

Get govt out of the water business and you have no monopoly.

I agree. Are you against all monopolies then?

Define getting the government out of it.

What's with your handle anyway? Ohio? That's a government monopoly.

Of course any medicine can kill you,if improperly used and prescribed. However the govt has mandated that you can not be given something prescribed as a medicine when it in effect has no medicinal or curative properties.

Govt mandates that the medicine given to you be of a dose and purity that is effective and govt mandates that a particular medicine be effective for the ailment you suffer.

It's nice to see you rale against the govt yet supply a link that shows it was govt

Well they would open themselves up to a lawsuit.

They probably would lose the farm they spent years working on.

Even if they avoided all that no one would buy food from them again.

And you actually have to believe that farmers are sociopaths and want to kill people they don't know.

I would not hesitate to buy non-government inspected food from a farmer. I don't even care if he has a farming license.

If you're so paranoid that you think farmers are trying to kill you via cucumber poisoning maybe you should seek professional help. Or give up the narcotics.

That's the government. I thought you did not want government regulation.

I would also point out that its not that insane given what happened with baby food in China and wine in Austria where they added anti-freeze for body.
