No, I'm not. Far from it, in fact. But I do assume he wants to do something with the remainder of his term.

Personally, I'm fine with gridlock. It means nothing happens for two years except endless fiscal crisis, but it also means the main achievement of the first term, ACA, is defended until, as the WSJ puts it today, the "roach motel" has a chance to work: once you check in, you can't check out. And if nothing else is achieved, that's enough for me. (Though we'll probably see at least one Supreme Court nomination added to the list as a bonus).

However, since politics is war by other means, I do assume that the Democrats want to defeat the GOP. Exploiting their weaknesses is the best way to do it, I submit.

Excellent. Do me a favor - write that up, sign it, and send it to your GOP congressman. TIA.

Yep, they want to ram their ideas down everyones ass. Almost half of Americans don't count until of course when it is time to pay the bill.
And Democrats are not doing the will of the people that voted for Romney. Almost half the country.

So what's your point?

Seems to me Republicans in Congress are doing what they said they would do.

They are doing the will of the people, not defying it.
They are holding the line, but little by little the "scrum" moves...maybe undetectable to those in the scrum, but visible to the spectators.

My guess is the people elected to congress are doing exactly what they were elected to do, or they would not run for re-election and win.

The will of the people is not static. It is very dynamic.
