Currently (as of 2011), eighth place:

We keep jockeying back and forth slightly ahead or behind of Italy and Brazil in any given year.

State just keeps on growing, though, thanks to foreign immigration and natural births:

I wish about 10,000,000 or so people WOULD move out. Maybe then I could find a parking place at the beach (and we'd still be the most populous state )

Beware of the Fox news followers gossiping in this thread.

Fox news tells these people 100's of lies (I will list these lies if you ask.)
Fox news tells them lies like "tax cuts for the rich increase government revenues."
Or global warming is not happening (this lie is a favor for corporations like ExxonMobile.)

Fox news is not a real news station. Fox news is financed by large corporations, in order to push ideas that increase corporate profits.

These Fox news listeners want trickle down economics (trickle down economics are literally tax cuts for rich CEO's.)
They want to abolish the EPA and FDA (so they can no longer fine large corporations.)
They want to privatize Social Security (so the Wall Street CEO's can take $750 billion dollars in fees, from everyone's retirement money.)

But Mitt Romney's $6.6 trillion dollars in tax cuts for the rich says it all.

The following Australian documentary explains how Fox news lies to these people.

you've been here less than 3 months, yet every single post of yours that i've seen finds you babbling crazedly about fox news, despite the fact that-

fox news is not the topic

no one has even mentioned fox news

no one even posted a link from fox news

seek help.

Since the 90's Silicon Valley has made the transfer to Austin.

You see it in our city council now.
Our roads fall to pieces and we have congestion out the ass, since 1/2 of California moved here, along with 1/2 of Mexico, and the city council spends billions on art to beautify the city.
Austin is a big time Fascist City. Corporations get big breaks to move here and then the city funnels funds off them.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Austin is a tiny metro of less than three million people, and would rank as the 5th largest tech center if it were CA, behind Silicon Valley, L.A., OC, and San Diego.

Los Angeles definitely has infrastructure issues, but that comes with the territory. Its a 13 million person metropolitian area. What's Austin's excuse?

Meanwhile.....34% of the nation’s welfare recipients live in California but only 12% of the U.S. population resides there.

That is if you include food stamps, which the people of California have decided that it is important for people to have access to food. But that is more of a States issue, and I am sure you are one who would agree that states should be allowed to decide what is right for the people of their own state.
